A Simple Flannel Nightgown

Last night I sewed up a nightgown for Jensen using the 'Matilda' dress pattern by Violette Field Threads. I used a soft flannel fabric for warmth and left out the elastic at the waist for comfort when sleeping. This is the 6th nightgown I have made using this simple and yet versatile pattern. Love it!

The Annie Dress

I went ahead and made an 'Annie' inspired dress for my 4 year old as she was desperate for a dress of her own. This time I made it as close to the iconic dress from the movie as I could. I finished sewing it last night and she was able to wear it to church this morning. I used woven cotton for the fabric to keep it simple and easy to wear, I used the 'Pepper' pattern for the dress ,and the sleeves are from the 'Belle' blouse pattern. Both patterns are from Violette Field Threads. I added piping to the collar and edged the sleeves in black, also adding a sleeveband. I made up the waistband myself and also edged it in bias tape to match. She was thrilled with it.
